  • Fender American Standard Stratocaster, a model officially introduced in January 1987 at the NAMM show. This specific instrument features a Torino Red finish, which is noted as a fairly uncommon and collectible color from this early production era.
  • Body: Typically crafted from solid alder for models with opaque finishes like Torino Red.
  • Neck: Features a "C"-shaped maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, a 9.5-inch radius, and medium jumbo frets.
  • Pickups: Equipped with three American Standard Alnico 5 single-coil pickups.
  • Electronics: Includes a 5-way selector switch and the TBX (Treble Bass Xpander) tone control system, which acts as a standard tone control from 0–5 but allows more high-end frequencies to pass through at higher settings.
  • Hardware: Features a 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge and modern-style sealed tuners.
  •

Many genuine 1987 models feature an "E4xxxxx" serial number on the headstock. This occurs because Fender utilized a leftover batch of 1984 decals when restarting production.
